About This Specimen
Purpurite is a secondary mineral formed by the simultaneous leaching of lithium and oxidation of iron or manganese. It forms as thin coating on the host rock. Purpurite is frequently enhanced by acid etching to bring out a more vibrant purple color. The specimens we have for sale all natural, untreated Purpurite that have not been etched.
